I took this photo about a month ago – a few days before the health dangers of fish spa treatment became news headlines. I couldn’t get close enough to focus on the fish tanks on the floor because this guy was in the process of cleaning the equipment.
I thought it bizarre to have Garra rufa fish nibbling flesh in (my local) hospital. The salon, in Outpatients Reception is used by both visitors and patients. I’m going back next week (as an outpatient, not to use the salon). I can’t wait to see if the fish are still there!
After three years of Not Designed to Juggle, I’ve decided to move my writing space somewhere new (here). So far (today) I’ve migrated several pages (the book reviews, the fiction and poetry page, the reading list) and published one tiny post, but in the future, anything vaguely professional I’ll put over there. But I do like it here, it’s more like a journal, with photos and art and music links – so maybe I’ll make it more informal, more photos, more interesting or inspirational links. I won’t delete any of the posts here, but if you have a link or subscription to this site, and you’d prefer to read more specifically writer-y stuff, then the new blog address is (I will eventually point a domain at it!): http://diane-becker.blogspot.com. Look forward to seeing you there ….
Matthew Pitt’s debut collection Attention Please Now (Autumn House Press) is reviewed (by me) in the October 2011 issue of The Short Review.
